PH Embassy receives first ballots, kicks off election period

   

Mrs. Cristina Bea and her daughter, Mary Diane Bea, a first-time voter, hand-carried their ballots to the Philippine Embassy in Brazil on 13 April 2019, the kick-off of the election period for Overseas Absentee Voting. Their ballots were the first ones received by the Embassy which is conducting Postal Voting for this year’s National and Local Elections.

Philippine Embassy holds outreach services in Rio de Janeiro

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL: As part of its mandate to deliver outreach services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Brazil provided consular services to Filipinos in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, 17 March 2019 at the aptly named South American Copacabana Hotel in the famed Copacabana area of Rio. 

Outreach mission in Suriname serves more than a hundred Filipinos

Processing the passport applications of the littlest of Filipinos.

PARAMARIBO, SURINAME: More than a hundred Filipinos availed of consular services during the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia’s Consular Outreach Mission in Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname. 

A total of 115 passport applications was processed during the two-day consular service which was held on 23-24 February 2019 at Queens Hotel in Paramaribo. Twenty-six (26) applications for authentication services and five (5) civil registrations were also processed.

Brasilia PE conducts Consular Outreach in Porto Alegre

PORTO ALEGRE: The Philippine Embassy in Brasilia conducted its first consular outreach for 2019 in Porto Alegre on 3 February. Porto Alegre is the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil.

A total of 20 consular services was rendered during the Consular Outreach, all of them passport renewals.

The Embassy regularly conducts outreach missions to provide consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction. The Embassy intends to hold more consular outreach missions this year in order to reach more Filipinos in the areas of its jurisdiction.

Brasilia PE hosts talk on breast cancer prevention

As part of its Gender and Development (GAD) Program, the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia, in partnership with ABAC Luz - Associação Brasiliense de Apoio Ao Paciente com Câncer (Brazilian Association for Supporting Patients with Cancer), held a talk on Breast Cancer Prevention for the Filipino community in Brasilia on 9 December 2018 at the Chancery. Dr. Lucy Ishii of ABAC Luz was the resource speaker. She also provided free breast screening to the attendees.

After a traditional Filipino lunch, the attendees were treated to a screening of Bamboo Flowers, a film by the late Maryo J. de los Reyes.

PH hands over ACB chairmanship to Malaysia

Ambassador Marichu Mauro handed over the chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Brasilia (ACB) to Malaysian Ambassador Lin Juay Jin on 6 December 2018 in a ceremony during the seventh meeting of the year of the ACB and the fourth convened under the Philippines’  chairmanship.
