23 March 2022 – Ambassador Mario F. Chan presented credentials to Surinamese President Chandrikapersad Santokhi at the Presidential Palace in Paramaribo on 22 March 2022.
AMBASSADOR CHAN JOINS THE RECONVENED ASEAN COMMITTEE IN BRASILIA (ACB) AS RELATIVE NORMALCY AND POSITIVE OUTLOOKS ARE REVIVED IN POST-PANDEMIC BRAZIL
15 March 2022 – The Chairmanship of Indonesia has reconvened the Heads of Mission and Working Group meetings of the ACB for 2022, given the relative return to normalcy and positive outlooks that now prevail in Brazil as the pandemic appears to wane in its severity in the country.

25 February 2022, Brasilia – Philippine Ambassador Mario F. Chan called on Saudi Ambassador Ali Abdullah Bahitham on 25 February 2022 at the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Brasilia to discuss and address the repatriation of thirteen Filipino security guards who were formerly employed by the Saudi Embassy.
Philippine Ambassador Mario Chan called on Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Thi Kim Hoa at the Chancery of the Embassy of Vietnam on 22 February 2022.
22 February 2022, Brasilia – Philippine Ambassador Mario F. Chan visited Vietnam Ambassador Pham Thi Kim Hoa at the Embassy of Vietnam as tradition among ASEAN diplomats.

Chan presented his credentials to Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro today at the Planalto Palace, and conveyed the assurances of sincere friendship of Pres. Duterte to Pres. Bolsonaro, as well as the that of the people of the Philippines to the people of Brazil. Amb. Chan also conveyed to Pres. Bolsonaro that he will exert his utmost effort to further strengthen and expand the friendship and cooperation between the Philippines and Brazil.
