The decision to conduct a consular outreach mission was made due to the reported decline in COVID-19 infections and death cases in May and early June and the insistent public demand of Filipinos in Brazil for the past few months. However, with the reported recent surge in the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths, the Embassy will again suspend the conduct of consular outreach in Brazil and in all countries under Post’s jurisdiction until the pandemic significantly improves.
The Philippine Embassy coordinated with the Filipino Community leaders in Florianópolis to ensure strict observance of COVID-19 protocols for the health and safety of the Filipino Community members and the consular team.
The Filipino Community officers and members in Florianopolis extended their appreciation and gratitude to Charge d’ affaires, a.i. Ms. Leilani S. Feliciano and the Embassy consular team for the conduct of the consular outreach mission. END
