PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN BRAZIL OPENS CONDOLENCE BOOK FOR THE PASSING OF FORMER PRESIDENT BENIGNO SIMEON C. AQUINO III

 
BRASILIA, 02 JULY 2021 – The Philippine Embassy in Brasilia, Brazil organized a physical condolence book signing for the passing of former President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III from the last week of June up to 2 July 2021. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, with Presidential Proclamation No. 1169, proclaimed a 10-day mourning period for the late President Aquino from 24 June to 3 July 2021.

The condolence book signing was open to all Embassies, Diplomatic Missions, International Organizations and to the Filipino Community in Brasilia, Brazil. Ambassadors and Heads of Post from various Embassies in Brasilia visited the Chancery and signed the condolence book of President Aquino. The guests gave their words of sympathy to the Aquino family as well as to the Filipino people and to the Charge d’affaires, a.i., Leilani S. Feliciano.

ASEAN Ambassadors, namely H.E. MRS. PHAM THI KIM HOA, Ambassador of Viet Nam, H.E. MR. EDI YUSUP, Ambassador of Indonesia, H.E. MR. LIM JUAY JIN, Ambassador of Malaysia, H.E. MR. MYO TINT, Ambassador of Myanmar, H.E. MR. DESMOND NG, Ambassador of Singapore, and H.E. MS. NITIVADEE MANITKUL, Ambassador of Thailand, have written messages of sympathy and signed the condolence book. Brazil’s Minister of External Affairs’ Ambassador Maria Izabel Vieira, Director of the Department of India, South and Southeast Asia, and Ambassadors from many Diplomatic Missions in Brasilia also sent their condolence messages to the DFA’s virtual Condolence Book or sent their messages of sympathy via Notes Verbale. They will be attached to the Condolence book
