PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN BRASILIA CHARGE D’ AFFAIRES, A.I. LEILANI S. FELICIANO LEADS THE OATH TAKING OF NEW PHILIPPINE HONORARY CONSUL A.H., TO CURITIBA, PARANÁ, MR. GUSTAVO KIYOSHI ISHITANI, AT THE CHANCERY ON 05 AUGUST 2021

05 AUGUST 2021, Brasilia – The Philippine Embassy in Brasilia organized an Oath Taking Ceremony and briefing of the new Honorary Consul a.h. to Curitiba, Paraná, Mr. Gustavo Kiyoshi Ishitani on 05 August 2021 at the Chancery. Brasilia PE Charge d’ affaires, ad interim Ms. Leilani S. Feliciano led the Oath Taking ceremony and administered the oath to the new Philippine Honorary Consul Gustavo Ishitani. Both signed his oath and appointment papers at the Chancery.

In his speech, Honorary Consul Ishitani stated that he looks forward to working with the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia and that he will focus on helping the Embassy in enhancing the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Brazil as well as assisting the distressed Filipinos within his jurisdiction.

 

In response, the undersigned conveyed her gratitude and congratulations to the former PH Honorary Consul General Keiko Ishitani for her exemplary service for several years to the Philippine Government and the Filipinos in Curitiba. She welcomed and congratulated the newly-appointed PH Honorary Consul Gustavo Ishitani and stated that she and the Embassy team look forward to working synergistically with him on enhancing and promoting bilateral economic and cultural cooperation and ATN and consular concerns during the time of pandemic and beyond.

 

Mr. Gustavo Kiyoshi Ishitani will be taking over the duties as PH Honrary Consul a.h. to Curitiba, Paraná from former Philippine Honorary Consul General a.h. Keiko Ishitani who has dutifully served the Philippine Government and Filipino people for several years.

CDA Leilani S. Feliciano and the Philippine Embassy team had photo opportunity with PH Honorary Consul Ishitani and his sister, Ms. Cecille Ishitani, herself a Brazilian diplomat working at the Ministry of External Relations during the Oath Taking ceremony and afterwards.

 

 

Briefings on ATN and Consular, Finance and Administrative concerns and on his role and functions as the new PH Honorary Consul were conducted immediately after the Oath Taking. The undersigned presented PH Hon Consul Gustavo with a quincentennial calendar, a Fiesta Box on Panagbenga and an Uruguayan red wine as tokens of appreciation. END
