Brasilia PE celebrates 27th anniversary of Edsa People Power Revolution

Donald Chin celebrating thanksgiving mass at the Embassy Chancery.February 2013 –The Philippine Embassy in Brazil celebrated on Sunday, 24 February 2013, the 27th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution. The Embassy invited Brazilian contacts from the government, the academe, the civil society and the Filipino community to a thanksgiving mass and simple program. With the theme "Pilipinas Natin, Abot Tanaw Na", Ambassador Eva G. Betita underscored the economic gains achieved by the country under President Benigno S. Aquino III´s platform of good governance.

Betita welcoming guests and the Filipino CommunityAmbassador Betita also took the opportunity to update the Community about the West Philippine Sea, and the Philippine Government's decision to bring the case before an Arbitral Tribunal under the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
At the end of the program, the Embassy launched Brasilia PE´s website (www.philembassybrasilia.org), which provides information about the country, the Embassy´s consular services, and important links for Philippine tourism, business and investment opportunities.
The event culminated with a simple Filipino merienda and fellowship.
