Above 7% growth expected in Q3

The Philippine economy may experience another higher-than-seven-percent growth in the third quarter amid continued government spending and expansion in tax base, the First Metro Investment Corp. (FMIC) and the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) said.

Philippine economy seen to have grown 7.2% in 2nd quarter

After growing faster than target in the first quarter, the Philippine economy is again expected to have posted a robust growth in the second quarter.

Moody’s Analytics said the Philippines, driven by domestic demand and a consequently healthy performance of the manufacturing sector, likely grew by 7.2 percent in the second quarter from a year ago.

S&P raises PH growth forecast

Debt watcher Standard & Poor’s (S&P) has raised its growth forecast for the Philippines, which is now expected to outpace other Asian countries suffering the brunt of weak demand from developed nations.
