Overseas Absentee Voting

In connection with the Philippine National Elections of 2013, the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia will receive the accomplished ballots, personally or by postal mail, starting on 13 April 2013, 8:00 AM until 13 May 2013 at exactly 8:00 AM, Brasilia Time. Ballots received after the said deadline will not be counted.

All registered voters should expect to receive the electoral mails starting this week as COMELEC has already sent them out directly to the voters. Those who have transferred residence after registration are advised to check with their former address for the COMELEC mails. Electoral mails with incomplete or wrong addresses will be forwarded to the Embassy. A list of electoral mails forwarded to the Embassy shall be posted in the website: www.philembassybrasilia.org or Facebook.

Please note that the mails from COMELEC contain the official ballot and instructions on how to accomplish and send them to the Embassy. We advise that you read the instructions carefully so as not to invalidate your vote. After accomplishing the ballot, make sure to detach the coupon or stub, which is the bottom portion of the ballot, and seal the ballot with the paper seal.

Please see to it that the serial numbers of the coupon and the ballot are the same before enclosing BOTH in the official envelope provided. Fill up all the required fields in the envelope, including name and signature, before mailing it to the Embassy. Your signature should be the same as the one you used when you registered.

Overseas voters who were earlier delisted for failing to vote in two consecutive national elections will be allowed to vote. Their names are posted in the COMELEC and this Embassy's websites. Those in the list may contact the Embassy immediately. Filipino seafarers who have been duly registered to vote can personally come to the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia from 13 April to 13 May 2013 to receive the ballot and cast their votes.

Kindly disseminate this information to Filipinos in your area.
