2nd Regular Meeting of Brazil-Philippines Business Cooperation Forum

 

Following the successful launching of the Brazil-Philippines Business Cooperation Forum (BPBCF) on October 2015, the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia has gathered the Brazilian businessmen again for the Second BPBCF Regular Meeting on January 21.

Philippine Ambassador to Brazil Jose D.R. Burgos shared in his Welcome Remarks the encouraging developments from his recent trips around Brazil, such as expressions of interest from business groups and local officials in the States of Goias and Maranhão to establish and develop business relations with Philippine businessmen.

The ambassador also urged attendees that it is high time for Brazil and the Philippines to elevate their relations and for business people seeking opportunities, diversity and innovation to take the lead.

The event was highlighted by a discussion of plans for a Brazilian business delegation to travel to the Philippines and the Manila-Brasilia Mini Trade Fair and Cultural Festival for 2016 to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Philippines-Brazil diplomatic relations.

In attendance were Philippine Honorary Consul General in São Paulo Mr. Vitor Manuel Martins Botelho, top officials from Embraer S.A., Eurofarma Laboratories and Condor Non-Lethal Technologies, Dr. William Leyser O’Dwyer, Executive Superintendent for Foreign Trade of the State of Goias, representatives from the Ministry of External Relations and other Brazilian companies.
