The Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia, successfully launched the Tourism Sales and Marketing Partnership with major tour operator Investur on 28 June 2017 at the posh Hotel Tivoli-Mofarrej in São Paulo, Brazil.
Led by Tourism Director Richmond Jimenez from the Philippine Tourism Office in Los Angeles, the event was attended by more than 120 guests, including Congressmen Rene L. Relagampos from the 1st District of Bohol and Scott Davies S. Lanete from the 3rd District of Masbate, delegates from the Philippine Senate and DOT. Consul Eric P. Valenzuela was on hand to accompany the Philippine delegation and to coordinate the presentation of Philippine dances with the Aliança Cultural Brasil Filipinas.
The event was primarily intended to train the travel agents how to promote and sell the Philippine tourism among Brazilian tourists. Aside from Investur Tour Operator, the major partners of the event included Qatar Airways and GTA Travel Assistance.
