Ambassador Marichu Mauro starts her official duties as Philippine Ambassador to Brazil upon her arrival on 06 April. She was met upon arrival by Protocol Officer Cesar Barrio, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil and the Ambassadors of ASEAN countries in Brazil.
Ambassador Mauro´s arrival was heartily welcomed by the Brazilian government.
In her first week, Ambassador Mauro called upon her colleagues in the diplomatic corps, and is scheduled to meet the Filipino community in Brasilia and Sao Paulo in the coming days. Brazil hosts around 1,200 Filipinos, mostly working in the service sector.
Ambassador Mauro is scheduled to meet the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Marcos Galvão, to present a copy of her credentials.
