Ambassador Mauro joins the Filipino community in Brasilia for a commemorative photo.

The Filipino community in Brasilia has finally met newly-arrived PH Ambas-sador to Brazil, H.E. Marichu Mauro last Sunday, 15 April 2018 during a meet and greet lunch hosted by the Philippine Embassy.

A good number of Filipinos who reside in the Brazilian capital came to meet their new Ambassador. They were very excited and relieved that a Philippine Ambassador is once again in residence in Brazil after an absence of more than a year. Ambassador Mauro arrived last 6 April 2018.

Ambassador Mauro took the time to meet all the Filipinos in attendance. She inquired about their respective work situations and general welfare. Most of the Filipinos she met worked for members of the large diplomatic community present in Brasilia.

Ambassador Mauro talks to the Filipinos in a family atmosphere.

Ambassador Mauro assured everyone present of the Philippine Embassy’s commitment to look after their welfare.

“Nandito kami para sa inyo - para pangalagaan ang inyong kapakanan habang kayo ay nasa labas ng ating bansa,” Ambassador Mauro told all the Filipinos present.

During the short meeting held, Ambassador Mauro also briefed the community about some of the projects she wishes to pursue while she is posted in Brazil.

Ambassador Mauro also had her first media interview with UNTV and explained her plans for the next two years while she is posted in Brazil.

After the meeting, lunch featuring Filipino food was partaken by all.
