SÃO PAULO: Philippine Ambassador to Brazil, H.E. Ms. Marichu Mauro met with officials of Investur, a top Brazilian tour operator based in São Paulo last 23 April 2018 to discuss stronger collaboration between their company and the Philippine Embassy.
Investur specialises in tours in Asia and have been including the Philippines in their catalog of tour packages in recent years.
Ambassador Mauro met with Mr. Anderson Chen, and Mr. Edgardo Kuwabara, respectively the Director and Business Development Manager of Investur to discuss in what areas can the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia help their efforts in promoting the Philippines as a tourism destination for Brazilians and other South Americans.
Investur has been working closely with the Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Department of Tourism in introducing the Philippines to the Brazilian market. They have already partnered in several projects to drum up interest in the Philippines as a holiday destination.
Currently, Investur is promoting a 15-day Holiday Package to the Philippines that will include stops in Manila, Tagaytay, Bohol and Palawan this November. According to Investur, interest has been high proving that there is a market for Philippine tourism in Brazil.
They encouraged Ambassador Mauro to take advantage of the momentum created by recent projects promoting tourism in the Philippines like the orientation seminar for travel agents last year.
Mr. Chen and Mr. Kuwabara both believe that another orientation seminar will really help the visibility of the Philippines as a travel destination among Brazilian travel agents. Ambassador Mauro assured them that the Philippine Embassy will help organise such an event and will support other future endeavours of Investur in promoting the Philippines to their clients.
