Maduro receives credentials of Philippine Ambassador
CARACAS, VENEZUELA: Ambassador Marichu Mauro presented her credentials to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Thursday, 9 January 2020, as the non-resident ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Venezuela and the Philippines, which have enjoyed diplomatic relations for the last 52 years, reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen and expand the existing cooperation and brotherhood ties between the two countries.
President Maduro, who considers the Philippines as an important partner in Southeast Asia, wishes for Venezuela and the Philippines to work in a unified way to continue deepening cooperation in the political, cultural, energy and economic spheres.
He also expressed his dearest wish to meet President Rodrigo Roa Duterte personally.
Ambassador Mauro on her part assured President Maduro of the Philippines’ good will and best wishes to President Maduro and the Venezuelan people. She extended the expressed hope for President Maduro to visit the Philippines in the near future.
