Philippine Embassy hosts dinner reception to commemorate Philippine National Day
Philippine Ambassador to Brazil, Eva G. Betita, led Brasilia PE’s officers and staff, members of the Filipino community and special guests in commemorating the 115th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence at the Bahay Pilipino, the Ambassador`s Official Residence.
More than 150 guests, mostly from the diplomatic corps, attended the reception. The guest of honor was Senator Eduardo Suplicy, one of the founders and main political figures of the administration party, the Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT).
Outgoing Phliippine Honorary Consul General Kiyoshi Ishitani was honored with a Plaque of Recognition for his 18 years of dedicated service to the Republic of the Philippines. Mr. Ishitani, who was accompanied by his family during the ceremony, served as Phliippine Honorary Consul General of Paraná, Brazil from 1995 until his mandatory retirement this month.
During the dinner, the guests were treated to experience Filipino culture with Filipino food, songs and dances.
